Giving back.  It’s something that is always on my mind.  For a long time, I have wanted to give back to children in some way.  A few years ago, I heard about The Tiny Sparrow Foundation  and I knew right away it was something I wanted to be a part of.  Unfortunately, at that time, the foundation was in it’s infancy and they were not yet ready to accept affiliate photographers.  Over the last couple of years, I kept my eye on their blog and Facebook page. I watched as they grew and started accepting photographer applications. I applied and waited.  This morning I received email that read:

Dear Christina,

Congratulations! You have been selected by the Photographer Review Committee as an official Tiny Sparrow Affiliate Photographer.

I am honored to have been selected and I truly feel that this was meant to be.

In cultures throughout the world, the sparrow is a symbol for hope and rebirth. Though small, the beautiful bird is recognized for its resilient and nurturing characteristics. It represents our mission to bring hope and new life to children living with critical illness.

The Tiny Sparrow Foundation is a non-profit organization that helps families with children facing life-threatening illnesses by providing memories of their journey through the art of photography.  With the help of photographers nationwide, they are able to gift  a beautiful album that will carry the love, joy and everlasting memory of each individual family.
